Short CV:

Dr. Julien Buyck (born 22.05.1980, France) is Assistant Professor of Microbiology at the University of Poitiers, School of Medicine and Pharmacy. He has been hired in 2016 as Maître de Conférences on a Join chair INSERM – university of Poitiers to develop the microbiology / molecular biology field of the unit UMR 1070 « Pharmacology of Antimicrobial Agents ».

He is a recognized expert in the biology and resistance of Gram-negative bacteria to antibiotics with more than 15 peer-reviewed publications, 2 book chapter and 7 oral communications in international meetings. He is familiar with in vitro assessment of antibiotics activity and he has developed during his last Post-doctoral fellow in Bumann’s laboratory in Biozentrum of Basel, strong skills about molecular biology to generate in frame deletions in bacteria, fluorescent gene reporters and screening methods in proteomics.

He is co-director of 4 PhD students and has been involved in a JPIAMR project (Co-Action). He got recently a Region nouvelle aquitaine – INSERM project to work on development of resistance  of the last new drugs in pneumopathies induced by Gram negative bacteria.
