Short CV:
Dr Bernard Frèche, Associate Professor of General Medicine at Poitiers Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, studied medicine in Paris. His thesis was awarded a bronze medal.
He was appointed Associate Lecturer in 2012, then Associate Professor in 2018. Holder of a Diplôme Interuniversitaire d’Investigateur en Recherche Biomédicale and a diploma in medical pedagogy, he has supervised numerous theses on the theme of “Cancer and General Medicine”.
For the past five years, his research has focused on optimizing the management of patients infected with Helicobacter pylori in primary care, with the aim of reducing the incidence of gastric cancer. As part of this dynamic, he has founded writing workshops for some twenty doctoral students in the sciences, and is actively campaigning for the creation of a network of primary care investigators in the former Poitou-Charentes region.
On the clinical front, in his outpatient practice, he is increasingly confronted with cancer-related issues. He has also participated in several national studies, including Forceps (colorectal cancer screening) and DédicaceQuali (breast cancer).
Bernard Frèche is currently preparing a doctoral thesis in science, under the supervision of Christophe Burucoa and Maxime Pichon at INSERM U1070, on the optimization of antibiotic therapy for Helicobacter pylori infections.
