Short CV:

Laure Prouvensier holds a Master’s degree in Cell Biology and Physiology, and after more than 16 years in biomedical research, including 13 years as an Engineer in a private company, she has acquired solid experience in topics linked to the study of anti-infective and pharmacokinetics. Her desire to return to fundamental research was realized when she was offered a position as a CHU Engineer in April 2019 and joined the INSERM U1070 Laboratory.

She is now responsible of the Microbiology Laboratory.

Technical skill:

Microbiology: Minimum inhibitory Concentration (MIC). Bactericidal effect of antibiotics alone or in combination (checkerboard). Time-Kill Curves. Study growth of pathogenic bacteria in different media. Cell adhesion studies. Bacterial numeration from sampled organs.

Development of new techniques or optimize existing protocols.

Strain library management (sending/receiving bacterial strains and plasmids).

Coaching, assistance and support for students.

Molecular Biology: Construction of a bacterial mutant library by random insertion. Identification by mutation sequencing. Production of bacterial mutants by gene deletion or mutation insertion. DNA/RNA extraction. qPCR.  Digital PCR. Construction of luminescent or fluorescent bacteria.

Preclinical Pharmacology: setting up preclinical infection models and PK/PD studies.

Cell Biology: Eukaryotic cell culture. Microscopy. Cytotoxicity testing of molecules. Cell freezing.
